DOWSING NEWS

June 2008

Hi all.

I started the last Dowsing News with a big thank you to Lou Howard for organising our meeting last month. Now I must apologise to you Lou as your Email address was not on the Group Email addresses. I have been sending mail and thinking everyone was well informed. Do you know, until now, I thought I was perfect!!!!

Only joking, sorry Lou.

Our Last Meeting: Sunday 29th June:  Thornborough Henge’s

What a day this turned out to be. Yet another apology to follow. As you know I had suggested everyone meet in the village pub car park and as requested, Susan Stead and her friend had indeed done so. But after quite a while, and no other dowsers in sight she decided to tour the village looking for signs of us. After several ‘sight seeing’ trips she finally found us. We were just around the corner from the pub, where I had parked my car. Sorry Susan.

After a quick briefing and history talk to everyone, we left the cars in the village and walked to the first of the three Henge’s. This is one of the locations that many people cannot find and when you have been to it you can understand. The Henge is located in a fairly dense wood, and enter through a wild hedge.

Upon entering the Henge, amidst all the trees etc, we were in awe of the sight in front of us. I cannot understand what made this special view/feeling/energies but it was like walking into a Secret Garden, only a lot better.

We were soon dowsing all sorts of things on this first Henge. Literature gives the date of the Henge about 5,000 years old but a group of 5 dowsers agreed that it was more like 6,500+.

There were energy lines going in all directions. The approximate centre of the Henge was dowsed by us all and then the direction of the other Henge’s. Quite a time was spent in this place as everyone was busy doing their own dowsing. The disappointing side was all the trees were obscuring our view of the Henge. We knew we were in it but we could not see it properly.

Then the strangest thing happened. We all witnessed a mole pop its head up above ground, disappeared for a few seconds and came up another hole about a meter away. It stayed on the surface looking down its newly dug hole and doing it’s own thing that we had to move away to make sure we did not injure it. Has anyone else encountered anything like this?

Time was pressing on and we returned to the cars and departed the village to head toward the second Henge.

The middle location is the one that is seen in most aerial photographs. It looks great from the air but in reality you cannot help feeling a little disappointed that such a wonderful site like this is in such a state of disrepair.

However after a spot of lunch on site and others in the village pub we then started to dowse.

There was some serious dowsing going on. As before one group was locating the entrance and exits to the other two Henge’s, Brian was walking along the top of the ridges checking for energies, which were in abundance. Patrick Herring was also dowsing the other side of the ridges also looking for energies.

Sandra had expressed a comment that the sheep had made a straight line right across the centre of the Henge exactly on line with the entrances and exits. Can’t help thinking that the sheep make good dowsers.

Later in the afternoon three of us decided to check out the centre and what energies were running there from the banks around the centre.

We asked if this site had it’s own Energies before the Henge’s were built. YES. Does this Henge draw energy from the other two Henge’s. YES We asked lots of other questions that interested and intrigued us. We dowsed for the centre and marked it then proceeded to find energy lines that were were coming from (or to) the ridges. The answer was there were radials coming from the bank at intervals of five meters all around the perimeter of the section we were dowsing. Too get a clearer idea of what we had found it was the same a bike wheel.

There were 2 large spirals at the centre which is typical and also at the end of each line there can be a spiral. We did not have enough time to check out all details.

It makes me wonder why there are three locations, surly with such small populated hamlets would one have been sufficient or did each Henge have a special use. The questions will always go on!

What a great day it had been I thought to myself as I drove home.

I am scheduling a group of 10 dowsers for a return visit to Thornborough Henge, main Henge,  next year. We plan to survey the area using ropes, flags etc to locate spirals and lines coming from the centre. If you would like to attend this full day event (10am – 5pm) please contact me. First come first served everyone.

Ridings Dowsers Next Site Visit:  A Past Stone Circle on the North Yorkshire Moors

There are 4 standing stones at this site. We are going to ascertain where each of the fallen stones were placed, dowse for other positions where stones would have been placed, locate the central stone and check out Energy sources.

This is a visit not to be missed.

Starting at 11am. Bring packed lunch and drinks, it’s miles from anywhere! Good footwear is needed (Jenny take note) and a windproof jacket.

Proceed from Pickering onto the North Yorkshire Moors Road, Proceed to the Moors well past the Devil’s Punchbowl, past the American radar base until you see a road to the left signposted to Grosmont. Turn left and site about half mile on left.

I will update you with the sat’-nav’ data in the next week or two.

If you have any problems call me and we can arrange to meet in Pickering.

New Timings for Site Visits

I would still like to remind everyone that we start our site visits at 11am. Please be prompt.
